This is a page for miscellaneous fragments of OPs which get never get completed due to one thing or another, so that I don't feel as if I'm wasting quite so much of my time.

This is from pretty much the first attempt at OP in its present incarnation. A4 paper, and demonstrating my rather cack-handed sketching style. This one didn't have very much coherence visually, and never got finished even in the sketch stage.

An idea that's appeared in various incarnations and never quite come together; this one I abandoned partly because there was too much text to fit in, and partly because around this stage someone gently took me by the elbow and suggested that I should double the size of the drawings if I wanted to get anything approaching clarity. There are still some pretty good visual ideas in here, I think.

A later attempt at the same basic idea. Once again, nice individual visual ideas were scuppered by other things completely failing visually. The attempt at reprising the library-and-bath section of the first suicide strip didn't work too well; the impression of space isn't as pleasant. Plus I forgot to do those gorgeous stacks of books.

An even earlier attempt at the same theme, which never got beyond hideous sketches. I've been wanting to do a strip with all five characters in a punt for a while, but compositions of people in setting are bloody difficult.

Another idea that kind of fell through. It was going to be an utterly improbable genealogy, complete with silly coats of arms (awarded to a distant ancestor for the invention of pennying). It also revealed that Carflounge was discovered as an abandoned infant between two bookcases in the Bodleian.
