Emily and inky visit the UK

October, 2003

Not long after Oren's visit, inky and Emily dropped by to visit the UK.

Emily's very first priority on landing: visiting Neal's Yard Dairy. For added amusement, it's located in Short's Gardens.

From left: Roger Firth, ghira, Ced, Iain, Emily (hiding behind her hand), Hjalfi, inky.

Later on that day, we went to a mud dinner in Drummond Street. Naturally, when asked to assemble for a photo, everyone stood under the reflective street sign, so this isn't a very good photo. Still, it's something.

The next day, we traipsed over to the Tower of London. It has ravens.

Sinister ravens plotting to take over the world.

Iain, inky, Emily, Jon.

And that evening, Jon cooked us all a nice dinner and we hung out at his place.

Obviously, we couldn't just hang around in London eating all the time that Emily and inky were here. They had to encounter the cambridge mudders!

inky and jwalrus have an unnerving similarity in their mannerisms and even a little in appearance. They disagreed but I think this photo proves my point somewhat.

Yes, we travelled all the way to Cambridge and only took one photo. We didn't even get any of maga. Go team.

A rare photo of me in the wild.

Unfortunately, jetlag was beginnning to kick in for our visitors.

And so, it was time for them to move on to another destination. I think I managed to drag them on a walking tour which inadvertently took us to all the least interesting parts of the City before they left, but thankfully that shall remain photoless. As usual, it's lovely to see US friends over here.
