ddyte does Cambridge

June, 2002

So David "ddyte" Dyte came to Britain to see the sights. This is the story of the day we took him to Cambridge for some punting action.

Warning! These photographs feature:

Read on, but with caution.

ddyte is more self-referential than Douglas Hofstadter. Here he's holding up a photo from katre's UK meet a few months ago. Not to be outdone, ghira carefully inspects his purple Cambridge boating scarf for flaws. Fee is amused, or possibly alarmed.

Also present but not in the main picture were Storme, veek and me. (veek is in the small picture.)

When we arrived at Cambridge we met up with maga. In this picture he is clearly unconcerned about his reputation and has no qualms whatsoever about hanging out with a bunch of completely random strangers.

maga took us to King's college, where he appropriated a punt for our use, ably assisted by ghira and his scarf. The rest of us are off collecting cushions at this point.

Unbeknownst to all, the punt cushions were to play an unexpected and deadly role later that same day.
