Back at the beach house

May, 2002

	Brunch in NYC with Valancy, neild, Kiz, Duchess, katre, Cthulhu, Iain, Storme, ddyte, Mindy and devil.

	After the pleasant stroll through Prospect Park, katre made us pecan pie. It was even tastier than it looks here.

	Iain seemed to enjoy the company of the snake far too much.
	I'm not sure if this is sweet or just disturbing.
	We decided to take a ferry to Staten Island, and took a photo of some landmark or other out of the window.
	We got there, looked around, and basically got straight back on the ferry. But we took another photo, to compensate.
	Obligatory landscape photo, but we thought the buildings looked pretty.
	This globe had been at the base of the WTC towers, which accounts for the gnarled and battered look. It now sits in Battery Park, amidst the squirrels.
	Speaking of squirrels, here's one of the better pictures we took of them.

	A man with a frightening amount of dogs. Just after we passed, they all started barking in a deafeningly loud manner.

	Boston was very pretty, so we took many photos of the buildings.
	We visited the aquarium whilst in Boston. This is a photo at the top of the vast tank in the middle of the aquarium, complete with giant turtle.

	This is the famous Boston Tea Party ship. Yes, it's tiny. Yes, it's called Beaver.
	More squirrels, on Boston Common. This one lay down flat in front of us.
	The squirrels are just cute, okay?
	Well, cute and very tame.
	We found an entire shop devoted to hammocks, somewhere between the airport in Virginia and the beach house. Storme seemed very pleased by this.
	dfan was less at home in the hammock.
