Bewitching Brews
Absinthe
An intoxicating blend containing wormwood essence, light mints, cardamom, anise, hyssop, and the barest hint of lemon.
Weirdly compelling sharp tangy lemon-mint scent, which then collapses into lemony soap. Meh. (My forum review).
Aeval
A judicious yet powerfully sensual blend, a mingling of justice and sexuality: sage, sweet pea, bold pale musk and warm tonka.
Promising in the imp, but it's all soap and no sage on my skin. (My forum review).
Antique Lace
A soft, wistful blend of dry flowers, aged linens, and the faint breath of long-faded perfumes.
A soft, genteel vanilla scent, very delicately feminine. (My forum review).
Aureus
True, perfect golden light, refined into an incomparably glorious scent.
Unpleasant when wet, but when dry this scent is indeed sweetness and light. (My forum review).
Belle Epoque
Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood.
Sneak jasmine attack! Plus the lily made it into opium soap, so even more blech. (My forum review).
Bewitched
Deep, luscious green and berry scents that evoke images of woodland witchcraft and the raw power of nature: blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk.
Dry and neglected and dirty fruit tea boxes. Eccch. (My forum review).
Black Forest
Thick, viscous pine with ambergris, black musk, juniper and cypress.
Yow, strong sharp scent. Turns powdery on my skin, alas. (My forum review).
Black Pearl
Gentle and lovely, but menacing and profound. Coconut, Florentine iris, hazelnut and opalescent white musk.
Ends up smelling liike a pleasant sun-tan lotion. (My forum review).
The Black Tower
White sandalwood, ambergris, wet ozone, galbanum and leather with ebony, teak, burnt grasses, English ivy and a hint of red wine.
Quite a masculine scent, very animalistic and warm with the leather and the ambergris. Fades fast on my skin, though. (My forum review).
Bliss
The serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate.
Weird - from cheap nasty chocolate to caramelly melty chocolate. A bit rich for me, but Iain likes it. (My forum review).
Blood
Essence of dragon's blood resin, thickened with myrrh and cherry, with a trickle of clove.
Thick and warm and rich and clovey. Yummy and dark. (My forum review).
Blood Amber
Slivers of warm, pulsating blood forever crystallized in golden amber resin.
Spicy amber, juicy dragon's blood, but not really that interesting together. (My forum review).
Blood Pearl
Lustrous, sanguine, soft and lavish: soft orris, blood musk, and coconut.
Close up, vile sour chemical ick. The coconut throw is wider, and nice, though. On balance, I'll just look for a different coconut scent. (My forum review).
Brimstone
A smoky, gritty blend, husky and gray.
Acrid and musty version of Djinn. I'd rather have Djinn. (My forum review).
Calico Jack
Sea air, driftwood, waterlogged kelp, and the memory of plundered spices sprayed over worn leathers, rough musk, and the salty wooden floorboards of the Revenge.
Mmm, salty woody sea-air, very fresh and bracing and evocative. (My forum review).
Chimera
The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal.
Sneakily enough, this appears to be drenched in honey rather than honeysuckle, so it went to baby-powder. (My forum review).
Dee
His scent is soft English leather, rosewood and tonka with a hint of incense, parchment and soft woods.
Oh the soft creamy bookish leathery mmmmmm. Another sexy boy scent! (My forum review).
Delirium
A contrary, conflicted scent, bubbling with merry madness. Contains apple, rose, and lemon.
Rose and lemon soap. Echh, really not my style. (My forum review).
Fae
White musk, bergamot, heliotrope, peach and oakmoss.Girly and light and a bit too sweet for me to really love. (My forum review).
Grog
Arrr! Avast ye, matey! This be the scent of pirate rum!
Butterscotch and rum - ends up a bit too greasy, though. (My forum review).
The Hesperides
Sturdy oak bark, dew-kissed leaves, twilight mist and crisp apple.
So much like apple-flavoured candy it hurts my teeth. (My forum review).
Hymn to Proserpine
The darkening amber of faith's sunset, deepened by the dark fruits of Proserpine.
Soft warm spices and amber and muskiness, much like Oblivion though maybe longer-lasting. (My forum review).
Incantation
Deep, wispy, and unfathomably dark: vetiver, dark woods, crumbling and burnt black sandalwood and a drop of lemon rind.
Smells like a manly cologne, sort of aquatics and butch. (My forum review).
Intrigue
Black palm, with cocoa, fig and shadowy wooded notes.
Strong sweet sticky delicious figs, dark wood, and a hint of coconut - but Iain dislikes it. (My forum review).
Jack
True Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove.
Ginger Nut biscuits slowly devoured by a peach note I dislike but Iain likes a lot. (my forum review).
Jolly Roger
Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods.
Salt and wood and soap. Meh. (My forum review).
Juke Joint
A bawdy, gleefully wicked and unruly scent: Kentucky Bourbon, sugar and a sprig of mint.
Mmm, a delicious mint julep. A great frimp to receive. (My forum review).
Kubla Khan
Through sunlit caves of ice, roses unfurl amidst dancing waves of serpentine opium smoke and amber tobacco, golden sandalwood, champaca, tea leaf, sugared lily, ginger, rich hay absolute, leather, dark vanilla, mandarin, peru balsam, and Moroccan jasmine.
Mrf, alas, these notes weren't likely to work on me - and it was all soap and florals. (my forum review).
Lampades
Their scent is the crisp, inviting bittersweet tang of cranberry with smoky dark lilies, heady, sensual musk, a tingle of ginger and a brush of Mediterranean spices.
Lovely tart cranberries over warm spices-and-ginger and sexy red musk. A lot like Mania. (My forum review).
Leanan Sidhe
Her perfume is a crush of Irish herbs and flowers, Gaelic mists, and nighttime dew.
All soap, all the time. Sigh. (My forum review).
Lightning
The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.
Sea-spray blue saltiness fading to Sea of Glass. (My forum review).
Lurid
Black currant, Bulgarian lavender and white musk with a dollop of thick resin and a voltaic charge of ozone notes.
Not unlike Lampades, but much fainter and I wanted more of a lavender kick out of it. (My forum review).
Kubla Khan
Through sunlit caves of ice, roses unfurl amidst dancing waves of serpentine opium smoke and amber tobacco, golden sandalwood, champaca, tea leaf, sugared lily, ginger, rich hay absolute, leather, dark vanilla, mandarin, peru balsam, and Moroccan jasmine.
Ode on Melancholy
Lavender and wisteria, heart-wrenching pale rose, desolate white sandalwood and thin, tear-streaked white musk.
A soft, gentle and sophisticated floral. Beautiful. (My forum review).
Ouija
Rosewood, oak and teak notes with wispy blue lilac, tea rose, dried white rose and ethereal osmanthus.
Generic rose attar perfume fading to a wispy rose-and-lilac-and-osmanthus soapy enh. (My forum review).
Rakshasa
Sandalwood with rose and patchouli.
Rose tea, warm sandalwood and a whiff of earthy patchouli. Much like The Empress. (My forum review).
Scherezade
Saffron and Middle Eastern spices swirled through sensual red musk.
It's an incense-to-cover-cigarette-smoke smell to me. Quite nice, but really too evocative of that sort of place and time. (My forum review).
Schrodinger's Cat
A paradoxical scent experiment! - tangerine, sugared lime, pink grapefruit, oakmoss, lavender, zdravetz, and chocolate peppermint.
Mm, citrus-lavender deliciousness, like lavender jam. Intriguing! (My forum review).
Seance
A mysterious, enigmatic blend of dry, mellow rosewood, crushed rose leaf and the slightest touch of warm hazel.
From dying rosebushes to dying roses on polished woods. Not places I want to smell like. (My forum review).
Shattered
A blend of white champagne notes, grapefruit, lotus, slivered mint and crystalline aquatic blooms.
Extra-strong minty fizziness with a hint of citrus and lotus. Fades fast. (My forum review).
Sudha Segara
Sweet milk and warm, healing ginger with a touch of golden honey and our blend of Ambrosia.
Citric ginger in the imp, but I think my skin ate it. Almost no scent at all on me. (My forum review).
The Tavern of Hell
White gardenia, ambergris bouquet, lavender fougere, orange blossom, melissa, tobacco flower, coriander, ebony wood, ylang ylang, absinthe and aged whiskey.
Complicated, weird, dark, acrid, musky, fresh, wtf. Not for me, though, I think. (My forum review).
Tempest
A crisp ozone-tinged breeze. The scent of the first gentle rain before the storm.
Slightly melon-and-soapy version of Sea of Glass, which is maybe less fresh but I think I prefer. (My forum review).
Ultraviolet
Lush violet and neroli spiked hard with eucalyptus and a sliver of mint.
Grf, this sounds so awesome. On me, parma violets and mint chewing gum. (My forum review).
Velvet
The soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh.
A nice warm vanilla-flavoured chocolate scent. Definitely a keeper. (My forum review).
Zephyr
Lemon, lemon verbena, neroli, white musk, white florals, white sandalwood, China musk, bergamot and a drop of vanilla.
So subtle it might as well not exist on me. (My forum review).
#20 Love Oil
A potent, enticing love formula, favored among Louisiana courtesans.
Grassy-herby pepper and rose - pretty nice, actually. (My forum review).
Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo
Bottled happiness.
Bubblegum drying down to a slightly weird powdery fruitiness. Enh. (My forum review).
Chuparosa
The Hummingbird of Love, the Rose Sucker. A potent, benevolent, merciful love blend.
faint roses and honeysuckle and lots of plasticky powder. Ecch. (My forum review).
Come to Me
A phenomenally powerful attractant. Sexual and commanding in the extreme.
Soapy lily soap with extra soap. Not very sexy, but certainly clean-smelling. (My forum review).
Fire of Love
A catalytic, potent love oil used to spark (or rekindle) the flame of desire between lovers.Augh, civet is so evil. Not one I think I need to revisit, ever. (My forum review).
French Love
A warm, soft, sexual blend. Sweet and alluring.
Dragon's blood and soapy lavender. Not bad, not worth keeping either. (My forum review).
Has No Hanna
Brings a rush of good luck, lifts the spirit, and helps alleviate depression.
Soapy acrid jasmine/violet/myrrh craziness. Really not good for my mood. (My forum review).
High John the Conqueror
A fast-acting, powerful scent used to overcome adversity through positive means. Attracts wealth, prestige, good health, and enhances others' opinions of you. Grants courage and steadfastness.
Grape candy fading to soft sweet grape-and-floral. Nice enough, but perhaps not my style. (My forum review).
Horn Of Plenty
Forces a change of fortune, helps overcome poverty and want, and helps attract prosperity, prestige and earthly bounty.
Almond-vetiver-honey-tobacco, not to my taste at all. (My forum review).
Red Devil
A sinfully playful lust blend.
Floral herby powderiness. Makes me feel queasy, and Iain doesn't seem too sold on it. (My forum review).
Van Van
A venerable voodoo blend, used for purification of the spirit and to amplify positive personal power.
Citronella-and-lemongrass-and-ginger-y, very powdery and icky. (My forum review).
