Ars Moriendi

Darkness Darkness

Blackest opium and narcissus deepened by myrrh.

The narcissus swamps the other two notes and soapifies this otherwise lovely blend. (My forum review).

Embalming Fluid Embalming Fluid

A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon.

Oooh. Subtle, delicate citrus, not too sharp. Very light and pleasant. (My forum review).

Eternal Eternal

Stephanotis, cyclamen, heliotrope, white rose and gardenia.

Very like Ace of Hearts - a bright white clean floral with a peary touch to it. Nice, but totally not indispensible. (My forum review).

Les Fleurs Du Mal Les Fleurs du Mal

The scents of the blossoms of darkness, condensed into one perfume. Features a rose base, softened with lilac and wisteria.

Three notes that should work on me, but nope, I get floral talcum powder. Sigh. (My forum review).

The Ghost The Ghost

A thin, sinuous, creeping chill, the scent of glee-filled undeath: white iris, osmanthus, Calla lily, tomb-crawling ivy and a coffin spray of gladiolus, lisianthus and delphinium.

Really unpredictable light damp scent, switching between melons and ivy and lilies. Intriguing. (My forum review).

Haunted Haunted

Soft golden amber darkened with a touch of murky black musk.

Unexpectedly lemony deep brown amber-and-musk scent. Light, gentle, but just a touch too sweet to become a true favourite. (My forum review).

Midnight Midnight

Evening primrose, ruellia, flowering nicotiana, wild petunia, panani-o-kai, night phlox, night gladiolus, moonflower and the elusive scent of Nottingham Catchfly.

The white florals are, alas, sort of soapy and waxy on me. Not my sort of thing. (My forum review).

The Reaper and the Flowers The Reaper and the Flowers

A funereal bouquet laid on cemetery grass: longiflorum lilies, white rose, chrysanthemum, and carnation.

If it wasn't for the soapy lilies, the carnation/chrysanthemum blend would be awesome. (My forum review).

Shroud Shroud

Dry white sandalwood wrapped in thin woods, soft grasses and the lightest white flowers layered over cajeput and the warm, deep scent of embalming herbs.

Warm, soft gentle sandalwood under light, gently sweet florals. Surprisingly delicious. (My forum review).

Wings of Azrael Wings of Azrael

Warm myrrh swirled with a bittersweet blend of violet, Lily of the Valley, juniper, cypess and cajeput.

Florals over medicine becomes powdery sugary violets over baby powder. Feh. (My forum review).

Zombi Zombi

Dried roses, rose leaf, Spanish moss, oakmoss and deep brown earth.

Rich mossy earth beneath warm, late-summer roses. Very nice indeed. If I didn't have London already, I would want lots of this. (My forum review).
